what bothers me the most is that damon’s problem was never that nobody would love him. caroline was interested in him (until he compelled her and treated her like shit), andie was interested in him (until he compelled her and treated her like shit), rose loved him and was interested in him (until she got bit and died), and charlotte had feelings for him (until he did god know what to her). this whole “damon’s journey is about being loved” is the biggest lie told by this entire show that keeps getting perpetuated by the writers. the fact is that plenty of characters have loved damon despite him being a complete shitface to them in return. so the sad thing is that damon’s journey is all about him forcing himself on someone who was already in a committed relationship with his brother until he got his “trophy” with no care or concern for how he got it. i’ve never been more disgusted by any character on tvd.
